*The great majority of applications went to schools with acceptance rates of under 35%. On average my client group applied to 2.39 schools with a range of 1 to 5 schools.
Clients applied to a total of 26 different business schools.
The most applied schools in 2009 in my client group were:
1) UT Austin
2) Stanford
3) Kellogg
4) Rice
The most acceptances came from:
1) UT Austin
2) Rice
3) Kellogg
4) Harvard / Stanford / Babson / Carnegie Mellon
Other acceptances came from: Arizona State, Boston College, Chinese-European IBS, Chicago, Duke, Georgetown, HEC Paris, Hult, IESE, IMD, Indiana-Kelley, Instituto de Empresa, Notre Dame, Southern Methodist Univ., UCLA-Anderson, Univ. of Michigan, Univ. of North Carolina, Univ. Southern California, Wharton.
Many that applied to just ONE school did so despite the advice NOT to apply at all this year due to their low GMATs (below 600 points) and/or their meager work experience (less than 2.5 years). This group experienced a much higher rejection rate than the rest.
