*The great majority of applications (86%) went to schools with acceptance rates of under 30%. On average my client group applied to 3.5 schools with a range of 1 to 7 schools.
Clients applied to a total of 26 different business schools.
The most applied schools in 2007 in my client group were:
1) HBS / Stanford / Kellogg
2) UCLA / Wharton
3) MIT
4) Columbia / Darden
The most acceptances came from:
1) Kellogg
2) MIT
3) Wharton / UCLA / INSEAD
4) HBS
Other acceptances came from: Chicago, Colombia, Darden, IESE, Instituto de Empresa, NYU, Univ. of Michigan, University of North Carolina, University of San Diego, University of Southern California, University of Toronto, Yale.
Many that applied to just ONE school did so despite the advice NOT to apply at all this year due to their low GMATs (below 600 points) and/or their meager work experience (less than 2.5 years). This group experienced a much higher rejection rate than the rest.
